Media Bug: Perfectly Normal Flights of FANtasy

There’s absolutely nothing amiss or unusual going on with this month’s latest installment. At least, nothing that a little C + P can’t fix.

Featured Photo Contributor

Good Morning Aomori is looking for new photo contributors. Any JET living in Aomori Prefecture is eligible to submit their photos for the site. If you’d like to show off your photos in the featured images of either (or both) of Volume I or II, please send an email to goodmorningaomori@gmail.com. In addition, if you’re passionate about photography, consider taking over the Photo Corner column. (And take a look at Peter Davies’ The Photo Diary for inspiration!)

Column Writer Position

Good Morning Aomori is always accepting new writers. Any JET living in Aomori Prefecture is eligible to write for the site.

Most of the columns on the site are geared toward Japan-related topics, but you can write on basically any topic you’d like. If you need inspiration, take a look at the “columns” sidebar on the right side of this page and browse for a bit. You can even revive one of those columns if it suits your fancy.

Most writers have a column in either Volume I (published on the 1st) or Volume II (published on the 15th), writing one article each month. There is no required word count or length. This is the usual format, but we could also set up a one-time article, a miniseries, or you could even write for both volumes.

If you’re interested, please send an email to goodmorningaomori@gmail.com and include your year on JET, your placement town or city, and either the column you’d like to take over or the idea for your new column or article. The idea can be as vague or as detailed as you choose.

We’re also interested in giving JETs a platform for content other than writing, so please reach out if you have anything you want to share on the blog: your stunning photos, your woeful poetry, your spicy fanfic, your impressive code–if you want to share it, we’re here for it.
