Trivia Trap

Pumpkin Pondering

By Peter Underwood

Mitchell won this one! Check the answers below…

For some of you, the spookiest month is starting. For others, it’s a time to avoid Starbucks until the threat of pumpkin flavouring has passed. I’m definitely in the latter camp, so I’m hoping a pumpkin themed Trivia Trap will please the October gods and goddesses, and we can get to Christmas quickly and without spoops.

Here are the two wonderful prizes you can try for:

1)¥1000 Starbucks gift card
2) Mysterious Mystery Box of Mysterious Mystery! Tell us what kind of stuff you’re into, and place your faith in me to deliver a worthy prize. It could be anything–even a ¥1000 Starbucks gift card!

Here we go…

  1. In 2016, a new record was set for the world’s biggest pumpkin, weighing in at 2,624 pounds, or 1.2 metric tonnes. Aside from being a ludicrous size for a pumpkin, how much did the grower walk away with in prize money?
    1. 11500 Euros
  2. One world record set using a pumpkin stands at “2 minutes and 3 tenths of a second”. What record is this, and how was the pumpkin used?
    1. Fastest 100m paddled in a pumpkin

We also have a tiebreaker!

Send me a description/link about the weirdest pumpkin spice associated product you’ve heard of! There’s some corkers out there…

Good luck!
