Lake Towada Winter Story Festival

It’s getting to be that magical time of year again when people show how creative they can be with snow. Every February, Lake Towada hosts the largest snow festival in the Tohoku region. Keep reading to see some of the magic from the Lake Towada Winter Story Festival over the last three years.

The Lake Towada Winter Story Festival features a wide variety of attractions, from shamisen performances to local food and fireworks. All while surrounded by a beautiful snowy scene.

There is a road with many food stalls for you to eat at. And if you get cold, there is plenty of indoor heated seating for you to eat at.

They also have an outdoor foot bath for people to enjoy. And, if you forget your towel, you can always buy a special Winter Festival onsen towel nearby.

One of the most famous things at the festival is the snow bar. Enjoy your favorite drink from an ice glass or carved-out frozen apple while appreciating the craftsmanship of the snow sculptors.
